Brown Button hosts the estate sale for MLB All Star, Brad Penny.

In the summer of 2018 former MLB All Star, Brad Penny hired Brown Button Estate Sales to host a moving sale in his 9,700 sqft home in Stilwell, KS.  Penny and his family were moving to a new home in the area and much of their previous furniture and furnishing were not a fit in their new residence.

The sale included a number of pieces of large custom furniture like an 8’ by 8’ four poster bed with a hidden safe in the headboard, 12’ by 4.5’ hand planed dining table, and 10’ by 10’ down filled sectional sofa. The sale also featured a collection of Louis Vuitton and Tumi luggage, collectable sneakers, and jewelry. Penny sold a huge selection of taxidermy mounts with over a dozen whitetail deer, five bull elk, a gemsbok oryx, a wild boar, fallow stag, and three rattlesnakes. The large patio and pool deck was filled with teak and wicker outdoor furniture that was all available for sale.

Despite its location on the south side of the Kansas City metro at 183rd Street and Nall, the sale was extremely well attended with over 4,300 items selling over the three days that the sale was open. With the volume of shoppers in attendance Brown Button staffed two parking attendants and a six-seater golf cart to get shoppers from the parking area to the estate sale. With the house nearly empty by the end of the sale, the Brown Button team handled a donation of the few remaining items, leaving the home clean and move in ready for the new homeowners.
