At Brown Button Estate Sales, we help families transition well by professionally showcasing and selling their estate items. For our Online Estate Sales service, photography plays a vital role: it’s how buyers experience the sale, and how we turn physical items into beautifully curated digital catalogs.
We’re looking for a high output, visually-minded Online Estate Sale Photographer who can photograph client homes across the city, capturing everything from high-end art to vintage collectibles, and creating compelling, consistent photo catalogs for our online sales.
This role rewards speed, consistency, and follow-through, not perfectionism. If you enjoy clear systems, defined standards, and ending each day having created a high volume of visually excellent images, you’ll likely thrive here.
What You’ll Do
In-Home Photography & Setup
- Travel to interesting client homes across the St. Louis metro area to photograph items selected for online estate sale.
- Set up photo stations in-home (using available spaces or staging surfaces) with an eye for composition and background quality.
- Photograph approximately 40 item lots per day, averaging 8 photos per lot, on a consistent basis.
- Work quickly and decisively. This is a production-focused role with daily output expectations.
- Use lighting, camera angles, and background control to achieve a clean, professional, and consistent look.
Upload & Cataloging
- Upload photos into our cataloging system.
- Collaborate with pricing and cataloging teams to ensure every item is well-represented.
Who You Are
- Visually oriented with a clear sense of what looks good and what doesn’t.
- Comfortable working fast without second-guessing every shot.
- Able to adapt to varied home environments and problem-solve efficiently.
- Efficient without sacrificing quality, comfortable working with volume while maintaining standards.
- Highly coachable. When given written standards, examples, or manuals, you take the time to match them exactly.
- Reliable and self-directed. Once trained, you can be trusted to execute without constant oversight.
- Bonus if you have experience with product photography, interior photography, or catalog work, but not required.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Familiarity with photographic fundamentals: composition, exposure, white balance, and lighting.
- Ability to prioritize speed and consistency over creative experimentation.
- Ability to work physically. This role requires regularly lifting 50+lbs, moving light equipment and staging furniture or items for optimal shots.
- Comfort working in private homes with professionalism and sensitivity.
- Strong attention to standards, not just details. You care about matching examples, framing consistently, and keeping outputs uniform.

- Online Estate Sale Photographer I: Handles the basics of online photography, delivering on the BB standard. $16 to $19/hr plus benefits
- Online Estate Sale Photographer II: Experienced photographer with 3+ years experience and photo editing skills. $19 to $23/hr plus benefits
