Original artwork:
Charles François Daubigny, oil on panel, Le Labours Auvers (1873, France), 7 ⅜” x 13 ⅞”; A signed oil by the pivotal Barbizon school painter, Le Labours Auvers was featured in the book Barbizon: Journey to Impressionism, and its provenance includes a sale at Sotheby’s New York in 2005. Daubigny’s legacy is now cemented in art history, not only for the beauty of his bucolic plein-air landscapes, but for his direct influence on the Impressionists who would follow in the footsteps of his practices and aesthetic.
